If you want to print custom print sizes. Please follow these instructions.
For this example, we want to print an image that is 11inches wide and 3inches high.
First, you must crop or resize your image as per the instructions, noting most importantly that the image must be saved at 300ppi.
As we do not print any size paper that is 11×3, the image will be printed onto the next available size.
To see a full list of available print sizes, click here.
The next available size to print this image on would be a 12×8 sheet.
Make on folder on your USB key (burn folder; flash card; etc.) called ‘Printing’ and in this folder, make a new folder called ’12×8 NO RESIZE’.
What this means is that in the printing process, your 11×3 image is put on a 12×8 sheet without resizing the image at all. NOTE: if the image was not saved at 300ppi, the image would not come out the correct size on the sheet
If you have other images and sizes that you want printed, make a folder for all of them and bring them all in for printing.
If it is all laid out this clearly, and the images are prepared, there will be no chance of error in size or quantities.

Open your image and open the Image Size dialogue box by Image->Image Size (Alt+Ctrl+I)
The Image Size dialogue box opens and presents itself as this (dimensions will differ for you image).

The Image Size dialogue box is broken down into three parts.
The first, is the pixel dimensions: This shows the actual pixels of your image and relates to the quality of your digital camera.
The next, is Document Size: This is the current size of your image, and can be viewed in Inches, cm, mm etc.
In the last section you have three main options.
We are going to resize our image so that the height is 12inches.

First, make sure that Constrain Proportions is ticked – This will mean that the image does not get distorted in any way.
Untick Resample Image - This way we can see the current resolution of the image.
Select inches from the drop down box and type 12 into the Height dialogue box. The Width automatically changes to 9 inches and the Resolution changes to 256.
For printing in Conns Cameras, we need the resolution to be 300ppi, so we tick Resample Image, select Bicubic Smoother and enter 300 as the Resoltion.

Click OK and you have resized your image.
NOTE: To print a 12×9 image we will have to print it as 12×16 no resize. Consult the Custom Print Size tutorial for more information.

Fill-in and Fit-in
When you are leaving your photos in to be printed, you may choose the option Fill-in or Fit-in. Fill-In is the standard, default setting.
Fill-In Explained
Most compact cameras take photos in a 4:3 ratio. What this means is that if you select a 6×4 size print (a 3:2 ratio), the whole sheet will be filled, but this will result in parts of your image being cropped.
Example:
![]()
(The darker area is not printed)
Fit-In Explained
If cropping the image does not suit you, as you need the whole image printed, you may choose to print as Fit-In.
If we take the same photo, and choose to print it as a 6×4 Fit-In, it will put the whole image on the sheet without cropping any of the image.
Example:
![]()
Alternatively, if neither of these options suits you, you will need to crop your image to be a 6×4.
If any further explanation is required, Please do not hesitate to contact us.

Note: On the FujiPix website Fill-In is referered to as Crop-to-Fit, and Fit-In is refered to as Shrink-to-Fit

Open your image and select the Crop Tool
The Options bar will change to allow you to put in the desired Width, Height, and Resolution.
Fill these in as required. For this example I want an image that is 3inches wide, 4.5inches high. The print resolution for Conns Cameras is always 300 pixels/inch. (See Making Custom Print Sizes)
When you have input your values, move your cursor over the image. You will notice that the cursor is now the crop tool:![]()
Click and drag a selection over the image. You can move the selection around or shrink/expand it as you wish by grabbing the selection and moving your curor again.
The area that will be cropped out is shaded. Once you are happy with the selection, accept it by hitting the Enter key or clicking the tick in the options Bar.
(Should you decide not to crop, click the Stop symbol in the options Bar.)
The image is now exactly 3 inches by 4.5 inches, at 300ppi. We can see this by going to Image->Image Size (Alt-Ctrl-I)
Save it as JPEG Quality 12 to a folder on your media called ’3×4.5′ and bring it into Conns for printing.
